So very excited to have found you. Thank you for all your efforts to making this type of thing available to the rest of us!
Please add me to your mailing list. I am very interested in the four part series and am disappointed that I didn’t find this site earlier.
I am also very interested in taking the rabbit butchery class. Originally I realized that knowing how to butcher game would be crucial to survival in the woods, which is a lifestyle I am very interested in undertaking when prepared to do so.
More recently I realized I wanted to dramatically decrease my meat intake and researched to find that rabbit is the most sustainable meat to even have, one of the reasons is that their food sources aren’t our own, no competition for resources.
What is the cost of a rabbit butchery class and how soon should we expect one to be offered?
The cost of our rabbit classes is typically around $100. Not sure when the next class will be. Likely in the spring at some point. We do only a few a year.
Please add me to your mailing list. Along with the hog butchery class do you ever offer a class on hog slaughter. I am very comfortable slaughtering most animals, but would like to better understand the cleaning, scalding and scraping necessary on a hog to have skin-on hams and bacon etc. I do lots of curing and smoking. Thanks for helping to connect people with their food!

I am interested in a rabbit growing/butcher class. I had chickens, but think rabbits are posible more fun, managable and taste better. and chickens really destroyed my extensive yard, ripped everything to shreds, ssshriekd like fury from hell, time for a change! thanks justine
Please add me to your mailing list. Very interested in sausage making classes in the future. Also looking for places to buy ribs for smoking 25 racks at a time.
How much does the pig butchery class cost?
The pig butchery class costs $225. You can read more here about our basic costs for classes, and here for how our classes work and what the fees pays for.
We have 4 Guinea Hog sows we are hoping to breed late winter or early spring this year and then raise some of the piglets for meat. We would LOVE to find out when you are doing your next Guinea Hog class as we would like to butcher our own meat. We would also be interested in Lamb and Beef classes as we are hoping to get some cows and sheep down the road as well.
Are you on our mailing list, Anne? If not, let me know and I will put you on it. That way you can get the announcement of the next classes.
